Extending the Life of Clothing, One Collection Point at a Time

For the past 25 years, we have been committed to extending the life cycle of clothing through our partnered collection points. We began with our signature clothes collection bins, known as TreeMachines, named for our commitment to planting one tree for every full bin collected. In 2019, we expanded our efforts by introducing daily monitored, solar-powered, and sophisticated clothing drop spots, designed to provide a modern, safe, and efficient way for communities to support reuse.

Through continuous innovation, USAgain has made it easier than ever for people to give their clothes a second life. We regularly service all partnered collection points, ensuring that clothing is collected and transported to the nearest distribution center, where it is baled into half-ton cubes and shipped for reuse both in the U.S. and worldwide.

Secondhand clothing plays a crucial role in global sustainability, with 70% of the world’s population wearing used clothes. Because secondhand clothing is significantly more affordable—costing less than a tenth of new clothing—it enables people to allocate more of their income to essentials like food, water, shelter, healthcare, and education. High-quality, affordable clothing and shoes also provide dignity and a means for self-expression.
