Reusing one pound of clothing saves about 2,400 gallons of water. According to the World Bank, 17-20% of industrial water pollution is due to textile dyeing and treatment. Up to 72 chemicals found in polluted water come directly from the textile dyeing processes. These chemicals contaminate drinking water supplies as well as wildlife habitats.
We Work for Our Planet
By extending the lives of clothes and shoes through reuse we are able to save our environment from much harmful pollution because the manufacturing of new clothing is such a dirty business. The textile industry may be the second most polluting industry on our planet after the petroleum industry.
It is estimated that the textile industry is responsible for 10% of all the greenhouse gases emitted in the world today. The textile industry's contribution to the CLIMATE CRISIS increased by 35 percent from 2005 to 2016. Reusing clothes is good for the planet because when we reuse, we do not need to manufacture as many new clothes.
At USAgain our commitment to protect our PLANET guides everything we do.
