Division Manager

The Division Manager is responsible for the operations and growth of USAgain. The Division Manager carries out aggressive growth and profitable operation thus contributing to the win-win phenomenon of resource conservation through reuse.
This position plans, organizes and manages all the activities of the local division of USAgain, including collection of material from the collection bins, processing, and shipping of all material, and expansion of the division to the maximum potential of the market, locating sites for collection bins that produce high yield and high quality material, public relations and outreach that generate good community relations for USAgain.
The Division Manager has full profit and loss responsibility and reports to the CEO and President.
Responsibilities & Work Detail: (general overview, not all inclusive)
- Manage the sales force for site location and expansion, to secure high yielding excellent quality sites for drop-box placement.
- Work with property management companies and retail store chains on contracts that secure premium placement of USAgain collection bins on their properties.
- Make strategic partnerships with local organizations, establish good public relations and build good will to support the expansion of USAgain.
- Obtain municipal zoning variances and permits for placement of collection bins where necessary.
- Build and maintain long term relationships with site sponsors.
- Plan, organize and execute efficient emptying of all collection bins.
- Receive and process all incoming clothes, shoes and miscellaneous for immediate shipment.
- Secure that all products are up to standard and meet the specific requirements of the customer.
- Maintain excellent order and systems
- Maintain excellent safety standards and implement a comprehensive safety training and certification program
- Perform quality control on finished products
- Manage refurbishing of drop-boxes
- Promote re-wear, reuse and recycling within the company and in the community
- Track inventory, productivity and all customer communications using the USAgain database.
- Communicate with broker, freight forwarders and truckers about outgoing loads
- Prepare packing lists, bills of lading and other documentation for loads
- Manage the loading of trailers and containers
- Full P&L responsibility to meet or exceed budget and KPI's
- Account for expenses
- Prepare payroll information
- Perform weekly stock count and minimize waste percentage
- Ensure an excellent level of customer service and response time for handling issues
- Staff the division to support reaching and exceeding the goals
- Set attainable goals and delegate with accountability, celebrating successes along the way
- Keep attendance and performance logs
- Address performance and discipline issues with employees
- Train personnel to perform functions safely and efficiently
Requirements & Qualifications:
The successful candidate has several years experience with profitable management performance in a similar industry.
- Experience with building a successful organization
- Background in sales management, production management and managing route drivers
- Proficient in using word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and database software
- Able and willing to lead by example and perform any job in the operation
- Able to go for initial training in Chicago, IL for 2-4 weeks
