February 28, 2011 – USAgain announced today its goal of collecting 6 million pounds of clothing to celebrate earth month this year. The earth month challenge aims to raise environmental awareness about textile recycling. Diverting 6 million pounds of clothing from landfills would prevent 42 million pounds of C02, a potent greenhouse gas, from entering the atmosphere. USAgain invites business owners to join the challenge and get involved during the month of April by hosting USAgain collection boxes on their properties and holding events to encourage their customers to participate.
During the month of April, USAgain will gather clothing from its collection boxes in 15 states across the nation in an effort to reach its goal of 6 million pounds. Local business owners in Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Washington, Wisconsin, and California are invited to participate.
